We turn photographs into things people keep.
Pacomaro designs and runs four online shops. We write the software that turns the photograph into artwork, run the storefronts and the advertising ourselves, and print through partners who make the canvas or the book and ship it.
The idea
The brands are different. The machinery underneath is not.
The brands look nothing alike because their customers have nothing in common. Someone buying a portrait of their dog, in Italian, needs a different shop from someone in the United States buying a hardcover book for a grandchild. One site trying to serve both would serve neither well.
What they share sits underneath: the same pipeline generating the artwork, the same checkout, the same print partners. We built that once, and it is the only reason two people can run four shops at all.
How an order works
From upload to delivery.

The photo
Someone uploads one photo. They do not need an account or a card to get this far.

The artwork
The generation pipeline paints it in the style they picked. It usually takes under a minute.

The preview
They see the result before paying for it. The preview carries a watermark; the clean file comes with the order.

A digital file, a stretched canvas, a framed print or a hardcover book, made by a print partner near the delivery address.

Four shops, four different buyers.
Each is a separate shop with separate customers, and each charges under its own name. Listed by the year it started trading.
Pet portraits
NobilZampa
Pets painted as royalty, and the oldest of the four. NobilZampa was already trading in 2020, six years before Pacomaro was incorporated, and came into the company when it was. Same product, different production line: the portraits used to be built by hand from layered templates, and now they are generated.

Most of the work happens after the picture.
Generating the image takes under a minute. Almost everything we have written exists for what comes after it: payment, tax, print files, routing, refunds and the emails in between.

We build our own platform
Storefronts, checkout, order routing and the admin behind them are ours. Where no off-the-shelf tool did what a brand needed, we wrote one.

More than one way to make the picture
We work with several image providers rather than one. If the first does not answer, the job moves to the next on its own, so an outage upstream makes an order slower instead of losing it.

We print near the delivery address
Nothing is made until it is ordered, and it is made by a partner close to where it is going. We hold no stock, and most parcels never leave the country they were printed in.

Five languages, local prices
The portrait shops run in English, Italian, German, French and Spanish, each with its own prices in local currency. Dream & Tale publishes in English and Italian.

Owned by the two people who run it.
Pacomaro is a limited company registered in Milan and listed as an innovative startup in the Italian Business Register. There are no outside investors: the two partners own it outright and fund it from what the shops sell. One runs marketing and the catalogue, the other the platform and the infrastructure under it.
